1959- Barbie is introduced
1961- Ken is introduced
1963- Midge, Barbie’s best friend is introduced
1964 – Barbie’s little sister Skipper is released and Barbie can open and shut her eyes
1965- Miss Astronaut Barbie is released 8 years before women were allowed to join NASA and Barbie gets bendable legs
1968- First African- American doll Christie is introduced
1971- Malibu Barbie model is sold and Barbie’s eyes now look forward
1980- First Barbie convention is held
1995- Kelly doll is introduced
1996- First Barbie website is created (www.barbie.com)
1997- First Barbie collection club is formed and Barbie’s waist is widened over debates that Barbie is too thin.
2004- Barbie and Ken break-up is made public along with her new boyfriend Blaine
